Inside The Walls Of Berlin

The capital of Germany, that’s Berlin. The city was founded in 1237 and does have a long history. 13.5 million tourists visit Berlin each year. There are many landmarks all about history to visit. I will show you everything on this page.

First, I’m thrilled to show you some Travel Stepper facts:

1. Berlin Wall

Everybody knows Berlin from it’s wall. This wall was constructed in 1961. The purpose of this wall was to keep west and east Berlin separated. Actually, to prevent Western fascists entering the East of Germany. So actually it was a huge prison.

Parts of the wall does still exist. The best you can visit view these parts at the Berlin Wall Memorial. You can see the landmark down this text.

3. Checkpoint Charlie

Checkpoint Charlie is in the south of Berlin, near Alexander Platz. This pint of interest supposed to be one of the entrances from the Berlin Wall period. This checkpoint is the only left since 1961. You could now visit the gate as tourist free of charge.
